Living In Lorne Park
In 1877, J.W. Orr built a hotel and wharf for steamers in hopes of attracting affluent summer tourists from Toronto and Hamilton to “Cottage Country” and by the late 1800s, the area saw the development of many cottages and a hotel that was quite famous at the time, Hotel Louise.
By the 1930s, as the region became more accessible, the cottage atmosphere turned to residential as more permanent homes were built. Today the neighbourhood still has the country, luxury appeal that it started with.
The neighbourhood boasts mature tree lined streets with an elegant and friendly vibe. Lakeshore/Lakeview, Clarkson, and Port Credit are close by and share the awesome restaurant and nightlife with Lorne Park.
Combine the attractive characteristics of neighbourhood with an excellent school system and you have what is one of the most sought after neighbourhoods for young families in the Greater Toronto Area.
