To those who know Oakville or live there, South East Oakville is special place. Lake Ontario to the south issues sprawling properties with gorgeous Lakeview homes and mature trees. Taking a Sunday drive from Downtown Old Oakville across lakeshore east is unforgettable and recommended.
North of Lakeshore does not disappoint either. Garilock Gardens on the Lake is beautiful in the summertime and Downtown Oakville has fabulous restaurants, shopping, bakeries, butchers. The Town Square is a popular place to take the family on the weekend, have coffee and stroll around Old Oakville and perhaps down to the lake.
If you are a boater, there is a the Oakville Harbour & the Oakville Yacht Club and in the summer the slips are full of motor and sailboats alike.
For an active lifestyle Oakville is also superb. Cyclists will find the roads wide enough to enjoy and runners have ample sidewalk space. There are fitness clubs, spin & yoga studios around downtown Oakville and parks throughout the neighbourhood, some with playgrounds and some with Tennis Courts. The Ontario Racquet Club is located on Winston Churchill Dr & Oakville is home to some great public and private Golf Clubs most notably Glen Abby Golf Course which has been home to the Canadian Open.
